Why Jesus Christ Was Born of A Virgin

Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel. Isaiah 7:14 NKJV

When the first Adam fell, man became spiritually dead and lost the connection and relationship with God. As a result, every human born of woman (copulation of man and woman) is born a sinner; spiritually dead. Romans 5:19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners…

God’s first promise of salvation is given in His conversation with Satan just after Adam’s sin. Genesis  3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

God realizes that man can only be saved by His Son. He realizes that the Savior cannot be born the natural way (copulation between man and woman) because man is a fallen being and his seed is subject to Satan. So, He gives a prophecy that a woman shall give birth to a child that would not be born the natural way, it shall be called “the seed of woman” and it shall bruise the head of Satan.

Isaiah 7:13 And he said, Hear ye now, O house of David; Is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will ye weary my God also?  7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. Here the Lord reminded the children of Israelites of His intentions. He made it known that there would be a miracle and wonder during the birth  ” Lord Himself shall give you a sign”.

Satan had no dominion over Christ, because Christ was not spiritually dead; diseases and sickness are born out of spiritual death. He walked in oneness with the Father. He lived in the realm of His omnipotence. If He had been born the natural way, He would need redemption Himself to walk in oneness with God.

Because He was free from the dominion of Satan on earth, He was able to live with men and reveal to them their Creator; the Father-God and also to free them from the bondage of Salvation.
