The Light Daily Devotional – The Mark of Christ
Focus: The Mark of Christ
The word for today
The mark of Christ is the identity of a crucified life. Sin, worldliness, and every agent of darkness will keep troubling you until you bear the mark of Christ!
Scriptural Reference
“From now on let no one trouble me, for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.” (Galatians 6:17 NKJV)
The plan of God for all believers is that we should live a crucified life. The majority of the problems we have in life be it in our marriages, ministry, business, career, academics, and all aspects of life were born out of our inability to live a crucified life. The life of all men who fail to allow Christ to live His life in them will be characterized by several troubles.
Apostle Paul came to the point where he said: “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” (Gal 2:20). Each time we live our own life by ourselves at best we manifest the works of the flesh which are the primary source of all life’s troubles.
You do not belong to God because of your name, language, church, title, and the spiritual activities you engage in; but Christ through the Holy Spirit finds expression in your life. Until you bear the mark of Christ by living a crucified life you will remain a weakling in the face of sin, satan, and worldliness.
Do you bear the mark of Christ?
Jesus! Keep me near the cross; be my glory ever and live in me to do your good pleasure in Jesus’ name. Amen
Emphasis: You will be troubled until you bear the mark which truly shows you belong to Christ!
Have a Purposeful Week!
