The Light Daily Devotional – Do not neglect the role of an Elder
Focus: Do not neglect the role of an Elder
The word for today
There is something to learn from anyone who is ahead of you in every domain of life. No matter how far and high you go in life, someone must teach you how to take the first step!
Scriptural Reference
“Therefore Eli said to Samuel, “Go, lie down; and it shall be, if He calls you, that you must say, “Speak, LORD, for Your servant hears.”‘ So Samuel went and lay down in his place. (1 Samuel 3:9 NKJV)
Even though God has chosen to raise a faithful priest for Himself after Eli and his household disappointed and dishonoured Him, Eli is still in a position to teach young Samuel how to hear God. Despite Samuel’s apparent greatness, he doesn’t yet recognize the voice of God. To reach your full potential and fulfill your destiny as a young person, you must dedicate yourself to learning.
The downfall of King Rehoboam’s reign was his neglect of the instruction of the elders. Disregarding the experiences of elders in your field will waste valuable resources for your journey in destiny. By observing the lives of elders, you can learn from their successes or failures, understand the consequences of their decisions, and gain insights for your journey in any domain of life. The involvement of elders makes the journey of life more promising.
What are the input of elders in your life?
Prayer: Dear Lord, grant me the humility and discernment to learn from the experiences of elders in my domain so that I may navigate my journey with wisdom and insight in Jesus’ name! Amen!
Emphasis: In the pursuit of your destiny, embracing the wisdom of elders and learning from their experiences can significantly enhance your journey.
Have a Blessed Thursday!
