The Light Daily Devotional – A Faithful Priest

Focus: A Faithful Priest
The word for today
God will always be on the lookout for a faithful priest in every domain of life. In everything you do, be mindful of the fact that God is committed to raising a faithful priest for Himself!
Scriptural Reference
“Then I will raise up for Myself a faithful priest who shall do according to what is in My heart and in My mind. I will build him a sure house, and he shall walk before My anointed forever. (1 Samuel 2:35 NKJV)
It cost the Lord His life through death on the cross of Calvary to redeem the souls of men. We were bought with a price, and God does not want His effort to be in vain in the lives of His people. Hence, He seeks faithful men whom He will commit to nurturing His people and bringing them to maturity in doing His will. He desires men who will act according to what is in His heart and His mind.
Due to the lifestyle of the sons of Eli, the Lord was disappointed and vowed to raise a faithful priest for Himself. When a man misbehaves, like the sons of Eli dishonoring God in their place of consecration, quietly the Lord switches to another man who presents himself faithfully before Him, just as young Samuel was growing at that time.
You are not working for God until you act according to what is in His heart and His mind. God will never run out of human resources in His business. Each time you fail God, you miss out on the opportunity for Him to attach His name to your life. The unfaithfulness of the sons of Eli, people like Gehazi, ruled them out of the scheme of God’s purpose. As a leader in any capacity, consider yourself privileged to be in the service of God and be a faithful priest.
Are you a faithful priest?
Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to be a faithful priest in the domain of my placement. Help me to always act according to what is in Your heart and Your mind. Amen!
Emphasis: Even in the midst of several unfaithful priests, God is committed to raising a faithful priest for Himself.
Have a Fruitful Weekend!
