Prayer Points from the Book of Esther

God’s hand of providence and protection on behalf of His people is evident throughout the Book of Esther, though His name does not appear once. Haman’s plot brings grave danger to the Jews and is countered by the courage of beautiful Esther and the counsel of her wise cousin Mordecai, resulting in a great deliverance. The Feast of Purim becomes an annual reminder of God’s faithfulness on behalf of His people. Esther’s Hebrew name was Hadassah, “Myrtle” (2:7), but her Persian name Ester was derived from the Persian word for “Star” (Stara). The Greek title for this book is Esther, and the Latin title is Hester.

Prayer Points from the Book of Esther

• Any element of Esther that’s virtuous but that’s not in us, may God deposit it in us in the name of Jesus. 

• Any character of Vashti that’s inherent in our lives will die in Jesus name. 

• Every spirit of stubbornness and hardness of heart will be destroyed in our lives in the name of Jesus. 

• Every spirit of tainted egotism and masculinity, wrong feminism will die in Jesus name.  

• May we not herald wrong and corrupt feminism and egotism in Jesus name 

• May we not be replaced, may our character receive healing in Jesus name. 

• Lord! Please help us to remain humble in Jesus name 

• May God give us a check on our emotions in Jesus name. 

• May God help us to keep quiet in due times and when necessary in Jesus name.

• Lord! Help us to learn to bite our tongues in the name of Jesus. 

• May we never become a Vashti in the name of Jesus. 

• In the days of our rising, may character not destroy our destiny in Jesus name. May our character not bring us down in Jesus name. 

• May we never forget our source in Jesus name. 

• Lord! Please help us to be Esther’s not Vashti in Jesus name 

• Lord! Please give us leaders like Mordecai who will push us to create heights in Jesus name. 

• May we become like Esther who acknowledges people for their sacrifice and labor over our lives in Jesus name. 

• May God allow His mercy to be upon us and speak for us in Jesus name. 

• Lord! Please help us with our emotions so we aren’t ruled by our emotions in Jesus name.

• May our errors not be louder than the mercy of God in the name of Jesus. 

• Every gathering of men that will speak against us, May the mercy of God speak for us in Jesus name 

• Whoever will be a voice to respond to our matter, let it be a voice that speaks mercy and favor in Jesus name. 

• Everyone who is promoted and wants to use their status to destroy us, may it be turned around for our favor in Jesus name. 

• May the plans of the enemy be turned around to favor us in Jesus name. 

• Before the day the enemy has planned to devour us, the mercy of God will speak and deliver us in Jesus name.

• May we not grieve the Holy Spirit in Jesus name. 

• May we let the Holy Spirit instruct us and obey in Jesus’ name.

• Lord! Please help us to obey You in Jesus name 

• May we not fail the test from God in Jesus name 

• Lord! Please help us to stay humble and be wise in all of our dealings in Jesus name.

• Lord! Please help us not to misuse the positions You are taking us to in Jesus name. 

• Lord! Please help us not to undermine those You have placed in our lives in Jesus name
