Key: God’s forgiveness is contingent upon us forgiving others. We cannot approach the throne of grace for forgiveness bearing an unforgiving heart. (So if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, 24 leave your gift there before the altar and go. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift Matthew 5:23-24)

God sent His Son Jesus  to the world not to condemn but to forgive us of our sins and reconcile us back to God. (All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation 2 Corinthians 5:18)

We don’t have the power to forgive but by His grace we can, we just have to let God; cast our cares on Him and He will do the heavy lifting. Cast your burden on the LORD,

And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved. Psalms 55:22
