Caption: Sing, O Barren

Isaiah 54:1 – NKJV – “Sing, O barren, You who have not borne! Break forth into singing, and cry aloud, You who have not labored with child! For more are the children of the desolate Than the children of the married woman,” says the Lord .

Isaiah 54:1 – NLT – “Sing, O childless woman, you who have never given birth! Break into loud and joyful song, O Jerusalem, you who have never been in labor. For the desolate woman now has more children than the woman who lives with her husband,” says the Lord.

Isaiah 54:1 – AMP – “Shout for joy, O barren one, she who has not given birth; Break forth into joyful shouting and rejoice, she who has not gone into labor [with child]! For the [spiritual] sons of the desolate one will be more numerous Than the sons of the married woman,” says the Lord.

Isaiah 54:1 – MSG – “Sing, barren woman, who has never had a baby. Fill the air with song, you who’ve never experienced childbirth! You’re ending up with far more children than all those childbearing women.” God says so!

Isaiah 54:1 – ESV – “Sing, O barren one, who did not bear; break forth into singing and cry aloud, you who have not been in labor! For the children of the desolate one will be more than the children of her who is married,” says the Lord.

The Yoruba version of Isaiah 54:1

Isaiah 54:1 – KỌRIN, iwọ àgan, ti kò bi ri; bú si orin, si ké rara, iwọ ti kò rọbi ri; nitori awọn ọmọ ẹni-alahoro pọ̀ ju awọn ọmọ ẹniti a gbe ni iyawo: li Oluwa wi.

Key: God is a good God, no doubt and His words are yea and Amen (2 Corinthians 1:20). If God in this passage is instructing the barren to sing-rejoice, then she had better started a fun party! because God doesn’t say things to excite us, tickle our emotions or just make us laugh like Sarah did. He means every word, letter and punctuation mark. He’s got the whole of creation in his hands and he controls it all including the affairs and thoughts of man.

Action Cue: Whatever ever God says is true, believe it even when you can’t see or phantom it. Have faith!
