1-John-4-vs-18-NKJV Word of the day: 1 John 4 vs 18 - There is no Fear in Love
1 John 4:18 NKJV

1 John 4:18 – NIV – There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

1 John 4:18 – NLT – Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love.

1 John 4:18 – AMPC – There is no fear in love [dread does not exist], but full-grown (complete, perfect) love turns fear out of doors and expels every trace of terror! For fear brings with it the thought of punishment, and [so] he who is afraid has not reached the full maturity of love [is not yet grown into love’s complete perfection].

1 John 4:18 – TPT – Love never brings fear, for fear is always related to punishment. But love’s perfection drives the fear of punishment far from our hearts. Whoever walks constantly afraid of punishment has not reached love’s perfection.

Key: Have you ever wondered why you claim you love God, God loves you or you are a child of God yet you have so much fear in you? Fear of failing, fear of going to hell, fear of what the future holds, fear of not making it in life and so many more fear of the unknown.

There is a saying that a man that is very confident about God’s love for him cannot be easily shaken by the devil. There is one thing about love and that is love walks hand in hand with trust. There is no way you love God or you believe God loves you that you will find it hard to trust him, it’s not just possible.

God has given us so many promises and those promises are assurance of His love.

“There is no fear in love” If you claim the connection between you and God is love then fear should not find its place around you.

Those fears are called fear of the unknown because they haven’t manifested yet and they are most likely not to manifest at all but God’s promises for us are forever going to manifest.

So why allow the fear of things that will not even happen consume you when you claim you truly love God and God loves you. Remember perfect love casts out all fear.

Reflection: Cast that fear out today and speak the love and promises of God into manifestation in your life.
