Why you must be Baptized in the Holy Spirit

Focus: Why you must be Baptized in the Holy Spirit

We are living in the dispensation of the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit who has made the Father and Son real to us. For we are the circumcision, who worship God in the Spirit, rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh Philippians 3:3. It is the Holy Spirit who connects us with God.

John 14:26 “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name” We must also come to the understanding that the presence of the Holy Spirit on earth is a continuation of Jesus’ ministry; He was once visible and could only function in a particular area. Now, He is invisible and the ministry is being formed in us through us. That invisible ministry began on the Day of Pentecost, and shall continue until the second coming of Christ.

Baptism of the Holy Spirit is the impartation of God’s nature/Spirit into man. Without this, a Christian though born-again cannot be regarded as a child/son of God. (But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. Romans 8:9.) The presence of the Holy Spirit in us is a witness that we are His and we are indwelt by Him.

For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. Galatians 3:27

Apostle Paul, in the context, describes the Baptism of the Holy Spirit as having been baptized into Christ; being imparted with the Nature of Christ. Therefore, if we are Baptized into Christ and Christ indwelt in us, then can we be partakers of the Abrahamic blessings which can only be received through Jesus. And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise. Galatians 3:29

Furthermore, it is the Holy Spirit in us that affirms that we are sons of God -Romans 8:16. When Jesus was on earth, He referred to His disciples as “friends” John 15:15 because, they haven’t received the Spirit of God. It is those who have received the Spirit that are qualified to be called sons of God- John 1:12-13.

Without the Holy Spirit we cannot understand the deep secrets of God – 1Corinthians 2:9-12. Even the Disciples of Christ during His first ministry didn’t have a knowledge of whom they have been following; it took the intervention of the Spirit of God before Simon Peter correctly answered the question Jesus asked them about who He truly is- Matthew 16:17. Thus, it is the Holy Spirit that reveals unto us who the Lord is.

Now, the Church has failed to manifest because there are numerous born-again Christians but there are few sons of God- Romans 8:19. Without the Holy Spirit in you, you cannot be regarded as a son of the Most High. The world is waiting for your manifestation. for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. Philippians 2:13. Without His Spirit you cannot walk/work in the fullness of HIM.

I therefore beseech you to crave for the power of the Holy Spirit; like the Day of Pentecost let us wait in worship and prayer for the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Luke 11:13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? God will surely release His Spirit if we ask Him.

PS: This post is for those who have given their life to Jesus Christ but not yet walking in the spirit. So, if you are reading this and yet to give your life to Christ, say this prayer: “Father, I confess that Jesus died for me, took all my infirmities and raised Him from the dead. I proclaim that Jesus is my Lord and Savior. I accept Jesus today as my Lord and Savior. From now on, I believe old things have passed away and all have become new. Amen.” Now, you can ask God to release His spirit upon you.
