Focus: Victory in Defeat
WORD FOR TODAY
It is a fact that a man will not always win in the battle of life. However, in every situation of life that appears like an experience of defeat; it is a victory for a man walking and working according to God’s purpose!
Scriptural Reference
“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” Roman 8:28 NKJV
It doesn’t sound well to say victory in defeat. However, there is no doubt in the fact that defeat is not a palatable experience but it can be regarded sometimes as a victory if the situation will work out for the purpose of God.
When Joseph was sold into slavery the whole situation to him will sound as if he was defeated but in the actual sense, it was a victory as far as his mandate was concerned. When the Pharisees ganged up against Jesus to ensure His crucifixion; it looked as if they had silenced Him but they established His Lordship over all mankind.
There is at least something to learn from every bad experience. Various setbacks in life can set your life on the right course. If you are living to please God and you have no issue walking in disobedience; then whatever happens to you even if it looks like defeat, is a victory for you.
