In the Gospel of Mark, Jesus imparts wisdom to His disciples, teaching them that true greatness is achieved through a servant’s heart. This profound biblical verse sheds light on the essence of greatness, emphasizing the significance of serving others. Just as David, the shepherd boy turned king, learned the art of leadership while tending to his father’s flock. He served the sheep diligently, protecting them from ferocious predators and gaining the strength and experience necessary to face the mighty Goliath. Through his act of selfless courage, David emerged from obscurity and into the limelight.
When we willingly devote ourselves to serving others, our capacity expands. We acquire valuable skills, wisdom, and testimonies that equip us to carry the weight of greater responsibilities in the days to come. Serving others not only blesses them but also unlocks our own potential and paves the way for our own success.
