The Light Daily Devotional – I will not be disgraced
Focus: I will not be disgraced
The word for today
A man becomes disgraced when grace is withheld from him. As long as God will continue to help a man by making Grace available, He will not be disgraced!
Scriptural Reference:
“For the Lord GOD will help Me; Therefore I will not be disgraced; Therefore I have set My face like a flint, And I know that I will not be ashamed.” (Isaiah 50:7 NKJV)
The assurance that one will not be disgraced lies in receiving help from the Lord. A person’s misfortune becomes evident when God ceases to assist them. Goliath, unaware that his past victories stemmed from God’s help, met his end by a simple stone when God withdrew His aid. Samson broke the covenant that connects him to God, this subjected him to disgrace. King Herod, despite his perceived greatness, was consumed by worms when his breath was taken by its owner. Pharaoh and his armies faced disgrace in the Red Sea due to his dishonoring of God by enslaving His people.
When truthfully evaluated, there is nothing inherently special in any person created by God; God Himself is the beauty of our lives. We are nothing without Him. A person’s wonder, brilliance, success, and greatness stem from God’s assistance. While some may attribute their success to hard work, it is ultimately God who helps them. There are people who do more than they do and have nothing to show for it. When God is having your back, you can never be disgraced. Again, we must be mindful of the fact that when we dishonour God we have subscribed to disgrace.
Meditation: What do you think you are outside God?
Prayer: Dear Lord, continue to help me; in your mercy do not abandon me in Jesus’ name! Amen!
Emphasis: Without God, a man is nothing; as long as He has your back, you can never be disgraced!
Have a Providential Monday!
