WORD FOR TODAY
Whenever the Lord beholds a man He does not consider his appearance, what people are saying about him, or what he is doing but his heart. In whatever you do be mindful of the fact that God knows your heart!
Scriptural Reference
“And He said to them, “You are those who justify yourselves in the sight of men, but God knows your hearts; for that which is highly esteemed among men is detestable in the sight of God.” Luke 16:15
The nature of your heart matters to God in whatever you do. When your heart’s not in line with God’s will; whatever you do or will do, no matter how wonderful it appears to be, becomes unacceptable to God.
Some men go about doing the work of God in their way, not because they want to please God but want to have influence among men and enjoy the benefits of occupying the position of authority among God’s people.
When Prophet Samuel wanted to choose and anoint who is to be king among the sons of Jesse, the Lord made it clear to him that He had rejected Eliab because he does not have the heart of a king despite having the appearance of a king (1Sam 16:6-7). How far you will go in life and the exploit you will do for God is a matter of the nature of your heart. Allow God to find space and take pre-eminence in your heart.
