The Light Daily Devotional – Don’t grow weary in doing good

Focus: Don’t grow weary in doing good

The word for today

Putting up the effort to do what is right and sticking to God’s principles pays off in significant and long-lasting ways. Even when it does not appear to be advantageous, only good deeds lead to positive experiences in every aspect of life!

Scriptural Reference

“And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.” Galatians 6:9 NKJV

In this corrupt world, it can be tempting to compromise and perpetrate evil for selfish gain. However, we must remember that the wicked will eventually be destroyed. As the Psalmist said in Psalm 92:7, when the wicked sprout up like grass and all men do iniquity flourish, it is for their destruction.

Furthermore, King Solomon affirmed in his experience that there are righteous men who perish in their righteousness and there are wicked men who prolong their lives even in their wickedness (Ecclesiastes 7:15). This may seem unfair, but it is important to remember that righteousness is what exalts a nation, and every act of unrighteousness cannot give birth to righteousness.

Therefore, let us continue to do what is good and stand by it, even when it seems as if unrighteousness is more beneficial. For in due season, we shall reap our reward if we do not lose heart.

+ Are weary of doing that which is good?

Prayer: Lord! I receive the grace to do that which is good in Jesus’ name. Amen!

Emphasis: Don’t be weary of doing God’s will and don’t subscribe to doing evil because it appears beneficial in a corrupt world; the prosperity of evil men prepares them for destruction!

Have a Blessed Thursday!
