Proverbs 4 vs 23 in Yoruba
Owe 04: 23 Jù gbogbo ohun ipamọ́, pa aiya rẹ mọ́; nitoripe lati inu rẹ̀ wá ni orisun ìye.
Key: We are a product of our thoughts; our life experiences emanate from the thoughts we engage in. This is why we must consciously and deliberately focus on good and positive things.
For instance, before a man would commit adultery he would have spent minutes imagining it, once his action seemingly aligns with his thoughts he finds himself in bed with another woman.
Whatever we allow to enter our hearts, if not examined, evaluated and filtered properly, will undoubtedly be expressed in our lives and our actions – in positive or negative ways. Guard your heart.
Action: So, (Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. Philippians 4:8) think about positive things, don’t just think, let your actions align with your thinking and you will see it come to pass.
