Word of the day: James 4 vs 8 – Come close to God

James 4:8 – KJV – Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

James 4:8 – NLT – Come close to God and will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world.

James 4:8 – Message Bible – Say a quiet yes to God and he’ll be there in no time. Quit dabbling in sin. Purify your inner life. Quit playing the field.

Key: It was recorded in the Bible (2kings 18:5-6) that King Hezekiah trusted God, clave unto Him, obeyed His commandment and didn’t depart from following HIM. God reciprocated the King’s acts – God was Him, He prospered and God added 15 years to his stay on earth, when he could have died of illness. (2Kings 20:1-6)

Thus, the more you give yourself to the deeds of God, the more God will give HIMSELF to you; just like the Biblical reference above.

Action: Come close to God, follow His commandments and do not depart from following. God honors His WORD; HE will come close to you, fight your battles and make your way prosperous.
