Caption: Wait for the Lord
Memorise: But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Isaiah 40:31 KJV
Isaiah 40:31 – MSG – But those who wait upon God get fresh strength. They spread their wings and soar like eagles, They run and don’t get tired, they walk and don’t lag behind.
Isaiah 40:31 – AMP – But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] Will gain new strength and renew their power; They will lift up their wings [and rise up close to God] like eagles [rising toward the sun]; They will run and not become weary, They will walk and not grow tired.
Bible verse in Yoruba
Isaiah 40:31 – Ṣugbọn awọn ti o ba duro de Oluwa yio tun agbara wọn ṣe; nwọn o fi iyẹ́ gùn oke bi idì; nwọn o sare, kì yio si rẹ̀ wọn; nwọn o rìn, ãrẹ̀ kì yio si mu wọn.
Key: Most times when we call on God for help we in a haste to get response from Him; sometimes the answers come quickly and sometimes it doesn’t. When you have prayed and it seems that God is silent, wait for the Lord (For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. Isaiah 55:8 KJV). He knows what you need and at the right time your answers will manifest and your joy shall be full.
Action Cue: As children of God, we wait on the Lord by spending time with the Word of God and with the Spirit of God in an atmosphere of prayer, a purposeful fasting is another way to wait on the Lord…in a secret place.
In waiting we are asking God to take total control; as we do that, He anoints us with new strength, new energy, new thoughts, new direction, new vision, etc.
Prayer: Father, as I wait on You, strengthen me and let my answers manifest in due time. Amen.
