Galatians 5:16 – NKJV – I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

Galatians 5:16 – TPT – Let me emphasize this: As you yield to the dynamic life and power of the Holy Spirit, you will abandon the cravings of your self-life.

Galatians 5:16 – NIV – So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.

Key: The prominent nature of all Christians is to walk in the Spirit – walking in the Spirit is not for a particular category of Christians; it’s for all. 

How to walk in the Spirit?

1. The personal decision to make spiritual progress – Jeremiah 29:13
2. Always feed your minds on the things of the Spirit and not the things of flesh; there are many distractions around us. e.g Social media.
3. Prayerfully, subdue the works of the flesh. 
4. Prayerfully, hope on the Holy Spirit for direction at all times. 
5. Study the Word of God always – Joshua 1:8 

Emphasis: If you do not have the Spirit in you, you do not belong to Christ. The Holy Spirit is the seal/confirmation that we are sons of God. –  Ephesians 1:13-14, Romans 8:16, 2 Corinthians 1:21-22

In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory. Ephesians 1:13-14

The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God Romans 8:16

And it is God who establishes us with you in Christ, and has anointed us, 22 and who has also put his seal on us and given us his Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee 2 Corinthians 1:21-22
