1 Timothy 6:10 in Yoruba

‭‭I. Tim 6:10 YBCV

Nitori ifẹ owo ni gbòngbo ohun buburu gbogbo: eyiti awọn miran nlepa ti a si mu wọn ṣako kuro ninu igbagbọ́, nwọn si fi ibinujẹ pupọ̀ gún ara wọn li ọ̀kọ̀.

Key: Solomon said that money is a defense (Ecclesiastes 7:12) and it answers everything.(Ecclesiastes 10:19). So, there is nothing wrong with pursuing wealth and having it but it shouldn’t be what takes the seat of our heart. The Love of money is the idolatry desire of it; the willingness to do even what is unethical to get it.

The Love of money can destroy a man.  For example Gehazi (25 But he went in, and stood before his master. And Elisha said unto him, Whence comest thou, Gehazi? And he said, Thy servant went no whither. 26 And he said unto him, Went not mine heart with thee, when the man turned again from his chariot to meet thee? Is it a time to receive money, and to receive garments, and oliveyards, and vineyards, and sheep, and oxen, and menservants, and maidservants? 27 The leprosy therefore of Naaman shall cleave unto thee, and unto thy seed for ever. And he went out from his presence a leper as white as snow. 2 Kings 5:25-27)

and Judas Iscariot (Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests, 15 And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver. Matthew 26:14-15 – And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself. Matthew 27:5 )

Apostle Paul makes us understand that the love of money doesn’t just take away a man’s focus from God it also causes more pain in the end. Greediness leads to sorrow.

Greediness also leads to poverty. (Greedy people try to get rich quick but don’t realize they’re headed for poverty. Proverbs 28:22 NLT)

Prayer: Father, turn my eyes away from the love of money. Amen.
