1 John 5:14 – NIV – This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.
1 John 5:14 – NLT – And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him.
1 John 5:14 – TPT – Since we have this confidence, we can also have great boldness before him, for if we ask anything agreeable to his will, he will hear us.

Key: The will of God are things that are in line with God’s plan, purpose and His Kingdom. We can know what the will of God is for our life through the Word of God, through our communication with Him in the place of prayer and through the revelation of the Spirit of God each time.
So, when we pray, we should pray in line with God’s agenda and with God’s purpose at heart. Let your request to God be that which will bring glory to His name. Our prayers will be answered when what we are asking for will glorify God and advance the kingdom of God on earth when we receive it.
Reflection: That which you have been praying to God about, is it for your selfish desire or for the advancement of God’s kingdom? Ponder on this.
