The Light Daily Devotional – Take Care of your Body

Focus: Take Care of your Body

The word for today

Despite the apparent magnitude of your divine calling and anointing, you still require a functioning physical body to fulfill the Lord’s purposes for your life. Your rate of progress through life—and perhaps even how far you get—are directly proportional to how you make use of your body!

Scriptural Reference

“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. 3 John 1:2 KJV

Your body is the vehicle conveying you to your destiny’s destination. The ultimate desire of God for you is that you experience prosperity in three critical aspects of life: physical or material prosperity, spiritual prosperity, and prosperity in terms of good health.

Despite the fact that you need self-denial in terms of discipline and putting your body under subjection to fulfill your mandate in life, the fact remains that you must cooperate with every natural law that supports good health.

One of the most important ways your life can be useful to God is to stay healthy. Taking care of your body is an important aspect of your service to God. There are several men with promising futures whose dreams and aspirations for God and their individual lives were cut off due to the manner in which they handled their bodies.

Take a rest and sleep when you should, give yourself exercise, keep your environment clean, eat good food, and treat any ailment in your body. Learn how to retreat periodically from your daily routine activities. You can only enjoy the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living when you are healthy!

What priority do you give to taking care of your body?

Prayer: Lord! I receive the grace to prosper and be in good health, even as my soul prospers in Jesus’ name. Amen!

Emphasis: The Lord wants you to stay healthy to fulfill his purpose on earth!

Have a prosperous Thursday!
