Focus: Surrender Completely to God

WORD FOR TODAY

The fact that our lives are a work in progress in God’s hands, we must always surrender ourselves to Him in all situations. Regardless of how you feel as a result of your experiences, God will do his ultimate pleasure!

Scriptural Reference

” But now, O Lord, You are our Father, We are the clay, and You our potter; And all of us are the work of Your hand.” Isaiah 64:8 NKJV

God created us for Himself and to carry out His will in the land of the living. There are some things we can’t help but encounter as we progress through life because God wants to accomplish His purpose through our trials. As a result, in whatever situation we find ourselves in, the proper attitude is to surrender to Him and let Him have His way.

Many men have pulled themselves out of experiences designed to bring the Lord’s good pleasure into their lives. Each time a man fails to cooperate with God the portal in complete surrender, he has admitted the evil one’s enterprise. It was not God’s intention for Gehazi to be leprous, but he became leprous when he disobeyed God’s instructions. That aspect of your life in which you fail to completely surrender to God is a foothold the devil can use to carry out his plan in your life.

Abraham appears to have been a fool when he agreed to sacrifice Isaac in response to God’s request. When Joseph turned down Potiphar’s wife’s advances on him, he appeared to be unreasonable. They were able to stand firm in God’s purpose and live the life He desired for them because they completely surrendered to Him.  Absolute surrender to God ensures that you will not serve Him in vain.
