The Light Daily Devotional – Redeeming the Days of Affliction
Focus: Redeeming the Days of Affliction
WORD FOR TODAY
It is in the plan of God for you to experience joy for the days of sorrow and evil as well as beauty for ashes. You have every right to be happy and find fulfilment in every facet of life as a child of God!
Scriptural Reference
“Make us glad in proportion to the days in which You have afflicted us and to the years in which we have suffered evil.” Psalms 90:15 AMP.
The peculiarity of the earth in which we are in is that it is characterized by both good and evil. Do not consider it strange when you have evil experiences; know that it is an exclusive nature of this world.
Also, Life is characterized by a change in times and seasons. It is not in the plans of God for your life to have an identical experience throughout your days.
Therefore, it is not wrong for you to desire a change of life as your fleeting years go by. As the psalmist prayed, you also can beg God in this respect. Job also prayed. Having known that his redeemer lives; waited for his change to come.
If God did for the likes of David and Joseph; He can do it for you. Your life as a child of God will not be an exception. You will have joy for all your sorrow and a great blessing for everything you lacked.
+ Do you believe in God’s redemption?
Prayer: Lord! Make us glad in proportion to the days in which You have afflicted us and to the years in which we have suffered evil in Jesus’ name. Amen!
Emphasis: Though you might have been afflicted in many ways, the Lord can make you glad even much more than the proportion of the days of your affliction!
