The Light Daily Devotional – Appreciating God for your life
Focus: Appreciating God for your life
The word for today
The desire for what we do not have most of the time becloud our sense of appreciation for God. If you want God to do something for you, learn how to appreciate what God has done for you!
Scriptural Reference
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7 NKJV)
Sometimes, as humans, we engage in a frantic race in a bid to achieve something for ourselves. The fact that our eyes are set on achieving a goal becloud our sight over what God has helped us achieve. We tend to be dissatisfied with our present state due to the setbacks we experienced in our pursuit. This tends to make us ungrateful to God for what He has done.
Each time you find yourself in a state where it looks as if God has not done anything for you, be mindful of the fact that the devil is near to steal your blessing. The truth about life is that what others don’t have is what you have, and vice versa. God has done much more than enough for you; He deserves to be praised at all times.
That you are alive today is reason enough to appreciate God. There is nothing to worry about in life because your life is a work in progress in the hands of God. Your primary assignment is to worship God for who He is and what He has done in your life.
How much do you appreciate God for who He is and what He has done?
Prayer: Lord! I bless you for bringing me this far; thank you for what you have done, what you are doing, and what you will do in Jesus’ name. Amen!
Emphasis: The way forward in your journey of destiny depends on how much you can look back and appreciate God for bringing you this far!
Have an amazing month ahead!
