Key: A good thing is to give thanks and sing praises to His name. We give thanks to Him His past, present, and future blessings in our lives
We sing praises to Him because He is sovereign and only Him should be worshipped (Exodus 20:3-5 NKJV [3] “You shall have no other gods before Me. [4] “You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; [5] you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me,)
We also benefit from His goodness when we praise Him (Psalms 67:5-7 NKJV [5] Let the peoples praise You, O God; Let all the peoples praise You. [6] Then the earth shall yield her increase; God, our own God, shall bless us. [7] God shall bless us, And all the ends of the earth shall fear Him.)
However, God only accepts praises from those who are His; He doesn’t listen to sinners (John 9:31 NKJV [31] Now we know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does His will, He hears him.)
Therefore, to offer the good thing to God, it is important to be a child of God.
If you are yet to fully commit yourself to God, do so now, so that your sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving can be acceptable by God.
Action: Always sing praises to God.
