Isaiah 49 vs 25 in Yoruba

Isaiah 49:25 – Ṣugbọn bayi ni Oluwa wi, a o tilẹ̀ gbà awọn ondè kuro lọwọ awọn alagbara, a o si gbà ikogun lọwọ awọn ẹni-ẹ̀ru; nitori ẹniti o mba ọ jà li emi o ba jà, emi o si gbà awọn ọmọ rẹ là.

Key: When one is a captive it means the person has been captured and held bound.

Imagine a goat tied to a pole with a really long rope. There are certain distances the goat can cover and feel it is free until it takes further steps and then discovers it can’t move or get to where it aims to get to. That’s the way some people are. They think things are going well in life because they are enjoying some privileges at the moment until they want to get to a particular height or achieve a particular desire and discover the more they try, the more they are drawn back. Some become sensitive to it and fight back in prayer but some just feel maybe that height isn’t for them and then they stay back down and stay comfortable within the range they find themselves. You even hear some say “I can’t come and kill myself”. The race is not for the swift but only those that run to the end shall be saved. You can’t run to the end without you fighting to get to the end. An athlete that gets tired almost at the end of the race cannot be considered as a winner. You can’t stay comfortable with that level you are.

If you feel you are really struggling to get to a height, and the more you try the more you fail; then you need to pray.

The bible already said in our verse that “the captives of the mighty shall be taken away” It even further said that he will fight with those that fight with you and he will deliver your children.

Remember if you don’t want to leave that bondage then you are automatically keeping your children in danger because if you yourself that should cover your children is comfortable in that bondage you feel is slight then tell me if you haven’t given the devil free access to touch your children.

Reflection: A prayerless Christian is a powerless Christian.  Pray, War and fight yourself out of the boundage using the word of God. He has given His word, then use it for your deliverance.

Prayer: Father, according to your word, deliver me from every form of captivity I may be in.
