Word of the day: Galatians 5 vs 1 – Freedom in Christ

Memorise: Galatians 5:1 KJV –  Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

Galatians 5:1 – NLT – So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don’t get tied up again in slavery to the law.

Galatians 5:1 – GNB – Freedom is what we have — Christ has set us free! Stand, then, as free people, and do not allow yourselves to become slaves again.

Galatians 5:1 – AMP – It was for this freedom that Christ set us free [completely liberating us]; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery [which you once removed].

Galatians 5:1 – TPT –  At last we have freedom, for Christ has set us free! We must always cherish this truth and firmly refuse to go back into the bondage of our past.

Key: One of the gains of the cross is freedom from the bondage of sin. We are set free from the bondage of sin the moment we give our lives to Christ. 

Howbeit, now, we must ensure we don’t lose the freedom and grace we have through Christ by staying away from sin. 

Action: We must subjugate our lives to the Holy spirit who will direct and lead us in the path of righteousness, so that we don’t return to slavery. (You are my refuge and defence; guide me and lead me as you have promised. Psalms 31:3 GNB)
