The Foolishness of God is Wiser Than Men – Dr. Mensa Otabil
1 Corinthians 1:22-25
For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom; 23 but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness, 24 but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
The weakness of God is when God’s way immediately doesn’t make sense to us or make us strong. The disciples of Jesus watched as mocked and tortured. The whole process doesn’t make sense. For example, Jesus said if someone slaps you on one cheek, turn the other cheek to him and let him slap. How many of you have read that statement and felt that it made sense. It doesn’t make sense to the natural man. As long as we approach God from a natural man position that will never make sense to us. Although we say we are born again Christians; spirit filled, we chose the part of the scripture that makes sense to us and the other part that doesn’t makes sense, we read it and just pass over.
Jesus said if somebody steals your shirt give him your coat. There are many things in the scripture that don’t make sense to us from our point of view as human beings.
