RCCG January 2021 Holy Ghost Service Sermon – GOD BLESS YOU

RCCG January 2021 Holy Ghost Service Sermon

TOPIC: GOD BLESS YOU

MINISTERING: Pastor E.A. Adeboye

TEXT: Genesis 1:26-28

Gen. 1:26-28 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27  So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 28  And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Like I said when I was announcing this theme; it is from God. God said clearly the theme is “God bless you”. That tells me that God is about to bless someone. And I know if it’s just two that he will bless, I will be one of them.

Today, we will be laying the foundation. We will define who is God, what it means to be blessed and the “You” that God has in mind.

Who is God? The first time someone is mentioned it will tell you a lot about the person. For instance the first time Elijah was mentioned in 1 Kings 17 vs 1. So, where was God first mentioned? That was Genesis chapter one verse one “In the beginning God” when you want to talk about God you can say “God is the one in the beginning”. But when you read Ephesians 1:3-4   Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: {places: or, things} 4  According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Ephesians is telling us that He has been active before the beginning of the world. He has been God before the beginning began – Psalms 90:1-2. In other words, He has been there before the mountains were formed. This explains Mark 11:22-24 “Have faith in God… That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed,” If you have faith in One who was before the mountain you can command the mountain and God who was there when the mountain was formed will move the mountain.

This year, all your mountains will jump into the sea

Let’s consider a physical mountain – Joshua 6:1-20, the day they lay the foundation of the wall of Jericho God was there, so when He wanted to pull down the wall he went to the foundation. And all that was required to get rid of that situation is just to praise God. This is why at the beginning of any programme I always ask you to shout Halleluyah.

Shout a big Halleluyah to HIM

Acts 16:25-26 When Paul and Silas were singing praises there was an earthquake that forced open the prison doors. When they were building the prison God was there.

Marital mountain: Genesis 29:30-31 God knew why Rachel was barren. Gen 30:22-24 – God remembered Rachel. Each time I read that passage I tremble a little “God remember Rachel” You mean God forgot Rachel for a while?

In the name that is above every other name, any one of you that God has forgotten, He will remember today.

Spiritual mountain: Joshua 6:26, Joshua pronounced a curse on Jericho. 2 Kings 2:19-22 The people of Jericho came to Elisha. God was there when the curse was placed on Jericho and whispered what to do to Elisha.

Today, I am making a pronouncement, every curse in your generation shall be destroyed

Now that we know who God is, what did God do? Genesis 1:1, John 1:1-3. Because God created everything, everything must obey Him – Mark 4:35-4. Joshua 10:12-14, the sun and the moon obeyed Him. Isaiah 38:8

Before the sun sets tomorrow your miracle will arrive.

Daniel 3:1-30, the fire obeyed God because God made the fire. Daniel 6:1-28 The God commanded Lions not to eat Daniel. Mark 3:1-5, the bible talked about a man with a withered hand. Jesus told him to stretch out the hand and the hand was restored. John 9:1-7, the bible tells us about a man who was born blind. The One who created all things gave him a brand new eyes.

We are still talking about God: when you talk about someone, you talk about what they said. So, what did God say? The first time He spoke to a man He blessed him. But the first God spoke He said “Let there be light” and there was light. So, it means when He speaks it is done – Psalms 33:8-9, Isaiah 55:10-11 Mark 10:46-52, Mark 5:2-19

In the name that is above every other name, everyone with eye problems, before the end of this year, you will testify.

When He says “Let there be light” it simply means “Let sorrow cease” – Psalm 30 vs 5 Luke 7:11-15

In the name that is above every other name, those of you who have been weeping every month, no more weeping.

Who really has an authority to bless? It is only God who can bless – Numbers 23:19-20. But He delegates His authority to some people to bless or to curse. For instance, a woman, if you make a vow to God and your father hears and he cancels the vow, the vow is canceled – Numbers 30:3-5. Your father has the power to bless you. Genesis 27:30-33. The husband has a delegated authority to bless the wife – Numbers 30:6-8, Genesis 31:25-35, Genesis 35:16-20.  May I encourage every Christian husband, constantly bless your wife. God can give the authority to bless to your spiritual father – 2 Kings 2:9-15.

What is a blessing? The true meaning of blessing is something good given to you over and above your basic needs. Every basic thing man ever needed was already created for man – Genesis 2:8-12. Health is basic, abundance is basic Psalms 34:10, 23:2, 35:27.

Genesis 27:26-29, Psalms 121:1-2, Ecclesiastes 5:9 When you are blessed people will begin to serve you and Nations will bow to you – Genesis 26:14-16

What does “God bless you” release to you – Proverbs 10:22 – this means you will be rich spectacularly and sorrow will be kept away from you. Genesis 24:34-35 Psalms 16:11 Job 38:1-7 Revelation 7:17

When God was pronouncing blessings in Genesis chapter 1, it was the age of innocence; everything was fine until Genesis chapter 3 when men fell and curse came. The beauty of it all is that salvation returns a man to the age of innocence – 1 John 1:7, Matthew 1:21, Galatians 3:13. The “You” we are talking about is the one whose sins has been washed away by the blood of Jesus, is the one Jesus has redeemed from the curse of the law, is the one who will obey God now and serve Him – Job 36:11. Prosperity and health are basics as long you are doing God’s will and obeying Him – 3 John 2.

If there is anyone who has not truly surrendered his life to Jesus, anyone who has been backsliding, cry to God now for mercy.

Prayer

  1. Father, please pour your salt into my source and change every curse in my life to a blessing.
  2. Father, speak to my body, anything that is damaged beyond repair, replace it.
  3. Father, command an end to darkness in my life.
  4. Father, please bless me through my spiritual father tonight.
  5. Father, just rain your blessings upon me.
  6. Father, wipe away tears from my eyes.

NB: The next month’s Holy Ghost Service will also be virtual. The theme will be GOD BLESS YOU PART 2.
